A Truly Unique Driving Experience On Ice

Imagine driving a rally-winning 300 horsepower Porsche 911 on an ice covered lake! Meticulously prepared Porsche ice driving lake circuits lined by cushioned snow banks, fully studded tyres and world-class instruction make this an unforgettable unique experience.

The world-famous Below Zero Ice Driving centre in Åre, Sweden, offers the ultimate ice driving experience for all abilities, from the fun-seeking novice to the seasoned competition professional. Let us teach you how to drive these competition-ready cars to the limit, and enjoy the most fun you can have on four wheels. Practice sideways driving – drifting – using inch-perfect throttle control.

The Cars

You will be driving specially prepared, rally equipped Porsche 911s. Most have a powerful 3.0-litre flat six engine producing over 300 bhp, a close-ratio competition gearbox, Bilstein gravel suspension dampers, a full specification FIA integral roll cage and those iconic Porsche Fuchs wheels with fully studded competition tyres.

The Lake

The lake lies at a latitude of 63 degrees north, 6km from Kall in Sweden and so between December and March each year freezes to a depth of as much as metre.  Couple this with 3 feet of snow and you have world’s best winter playground.  The ice tracks are carved into the snow to our specification, giving you various levels of difficulty as you progress through the stages of the day.  To top it all, the snow lined banks act as the perfect safety zone for the inevitable spin or shunt. Each track is designed to teach you a different set of skills.

Available Packages

1 person - £3500 total | £7000 total (2 Day)

This experience is ideal for one person as it allowed for maximum time in the car on the ice. You will drive with breaks from 9am until 3pm, with a lunch in between.

2 People - £1750 per person | £3500 per person (2 day)

You can split this experience with one person and split the costs. You will share the time on the ice together and whilst one person is resting, the other is driving.

3 People - £1250 per person | £2500 per person (2 day)

3 people is what we suggest being the maximum split experience. This allows for a good amount of time in the cars during this experience, and naturally reduces the overall cost down per person.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes you will be driving on the ice from 9am to 3pm. The team will structure the day so will not leave the ice disappointed!

Yes, for insurance purposes, the instructor will be sat next to you all day. Their job is just to make sure you are driving with the right technique and making sure you are achieving the maximum out of each session. All of our instructors are qualified and hand chosen for the type of car & experience.

The seats have padding in, and we can move the padding around to a certain degree, to fit your size. We will do our best to help position all of the padding before you go out on track, in order to make you feel as comfortable as possible.

No – we want you to turn up relaxed and ready to enjoy the experience. The instructors will talk you through everything throughout to get you comfortable and enjoying your experience. If there are any specific details you’d like to know, you can always ask the technicians or driving professionals.

If you spin off track and do not hit anything; then the instructor will ask you to start the engine again if it’s safe to do so, and make your way back to the pits carefully. We will then get the car in for a quick check with our technicians. If everything looks OK, we will either send you straight back out for some more laps, or for a quick break to understand what happened with our professional.

If the weather is really bad, the team will make a call on when you can go out. Typically there can be a window of bad weather, but it typically clears up and allows you to get back out to the experience.

You have to be a minimum of 17 years of age and a maximum of 75 years of age to be allowed to complete the experience
